Kelley Ray, Visual Effects Supervisor/Producer/Compositor & Second Unit Director from Asheville has been working recently with the NC Film Commission. He has made headway in expanding the Film Commission’s crew and support services listings to include slots for Visual Effects related slots. The commission has added VFX Coordinator under the Crew Listing and PRODUCTION COMPANIES (Visual FX) under Support Services. He is still lobbying them to allow multiple listings per person/company as well as additional VFX related positions and roles. We applaud Kelley’s efforts and hope that this will lead to more VFX work in North Carolina. Currently most of the VFX work is done elsewhere despite many films being shot on location in North Carolina. Please express your support to the NC Film Commission to have more detailed listings for VFX so that there may be more exposure of the talent locally.
