The Department of Design at Winthrop University is looking for an instructor for the 2012-13 academic year in the area of motion graphics and/or sequential media. The successful candidate will teach a variety of design skills from storyboarding, treatments, hands-on animation, typographic effects to working with live action footage. The projects include title sequencing, web video, commercials, special effects and entertainment spots. Students are in their Junior and Senior year however, the courses are at an introductory and intermediate level. All the students are Graphic Design, Illustration or Interactive Media majors who have completed at least 2 years of their design degree and have passed an intensive review of their work. This is a great opportunity for a motion designer with an all round skill set and an ability to connect with students and give them skills they can take into the field. The candidate applying must have the following; expert knowledge of Final Cut Pro, Motion or After Effects. You must have at least 2-3 years studio/agency experience, able to communicate confidentially, and be organized. We would require that you have at least a bachelor degree in an appropriate field and a masters degree would be an asset but not required. Any teaching experience would also be an asset.
